Biography

Council Member Holly Grummert was elected to the City Council in November 2019. Grummert represents Ward 1, encompassing all of Overland Park north of 87th Street, as well as the Round Hill neighborhood.

Grummert has lived in Overland Park since 2007. She and her husband, Scott, are the parents of three children, who attend school in the Shawnee Mission School District.

Council Member Grummert is a first-generation graduate from the University of Wyoming, with a Bachelor of Arts in anthropology. She worked in human resources, administering benefits and facilitating new hires. Grummert owned a small business in Overland Park before becoming a full time mom.

Grummert has been active in the Parent Teacher Association at her children’s school, serving as vice-president of Membership, being a room mom and a member-at-large. She was also on the 150th committee to celebrate the founding of the first elementary school in the area.

Grummert reinstated the Broadmoor neighborhood with the Neighborhood Conservation Program, where she is on the steering committee. This has been a continuing step in helping to grow and preserve the great community that is Overland Park. Council Member Grummert wants to maintain the great environment that is Overland Park, and to help move it forward.
