Featured Creature

Fall’s featured creature is the Belgian Draft Horse, which power our horse-drawn hayrides.

Five teams of horses from Sharp’s Country Hayrides share the work pulling the wagons. Fun facts about these horses include:

  • The horses weigh between 1800 and 2200 pounds.
  • Horses are measured in hands. The draft horses that work at the Farmstead are about 18 hands high, or approximately 5 feet, 10 inches tall.
  • The horese range from three to 12 years in age.

Experience these beautiful animals when you hitch a ride to Pumpkin Hollow, open through Halloween at the Farmstead.
