Amy Scrivner was elected to the City Council in November 2025. She and her husband, Chris, have lived in Overland Park since 2021.
Scrivner spent her early childhood in Germany, Alaska and Washington state thanks to her father’s military service in the U.S. Air Force. Her family first moved to Johnson County in 1985. After graduating from Olathe South High School, Scrivner attended Eastern New Mexico University and earned a bachelor’s degree in English. She later moved to Cincinnati, Ohio. After 25 years away, she returned to Kansas to help care for her father after her mother died.
Scrivner has devoted her professional life to nonprofit work. She has extensive experience in fundraising, grant writing, communications, government relations and program development. She has helped raise millions of dollars for historic preservation, social services, access to healthcare, workforce development, veterans and people with disabilities. She currently serves as Development and Communications Director for BikeWalkKC.
Outside of work, Scrivner provides free English language lessons to students online and has worked with students in the Kansas City region, as well as Vietnam and Brazil.
