Outdoor Pools

Overland Park has five outdoor pools which are open for the 2019 season.

Bluejacket, Marty, Stonegate and Youngs Pools will close for the season on August 11. After August 11, Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center will operate limited hours, 4-7 p.m. weekdays, and noon-7 p.m. weekends, through Labor Day.

Bluejacket Pool

Avoid summertime shivers in this heated pool flanked by decks, shade and grassy areas.

Features include a:

  • Zero depth entry;
  • Jet bench seat;
  • 15-foot tall water slide;
  • One meter diving boards; and
  • Zero depth entry youth pool with a dolphin waterslide.

Upon request, a 25 meter lap lane will be provided from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Marty Pool

Built in 1994, Marty is the ideal facility for younger children. In addition to a youth pool with a zero depth entry, it has:

  • Fountains (youth pool);
  • A tugboat slide (youth pool)
  • A large shaded sand area for digging, building and playing
  • A main pool with a zero depth entry that gradually increases to a deep end that is just over six feet; and
  • A water slide.

The entire facility is surrounded by lots of grassy areas perfect for laying out or relaxing.

Upon request, a 25 meter lap lane will be provided from 5:30 to 8 p.m.

Stonegate Pool

Originally, the city's smallest pool, Stonegate Pool was rebuilt in 2009 after more than 40 years of summertime fun. It has:

  • 7,100 square feet of water;
  • One 22-foot high spiral water slide with approximately 135 feet of twists and turns;
  • A 1 meter diving board and side diving;
  • A youth pool with fountain features;
  • A 25 meter lap lane;
  • More than 25 feet of zero depth area;
  • Shade/relaxation space;
  • A main building with pool offices, a concession stand and locker rooms; and
  • 75 parking spaces.

Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center

At TRAC, the city's largest overall pool facility, visitors can enjoy a:

  • Zero depth entry with cooling fountains;
  • Inflatable play feature;
  • A 60-foot long family slide and a long, curly slide; 
  • A 25-meter lap lane; and
  • Saturday morning Special Swims.

The facility also has lots of shade, grassy areas for laying out or relaxing. The TRAC Picnic Shelter is available to rent.

Young’s Pool

One of the city's largest pools, Young's makes its mark with a 31-foot-tall water slide that dares guests to take the plunge down the drop slide.

The city's only Olympic size pool, Young's also has:

  • A flume body slide with 200 feet of twists and turns
  • One three meter and two one meter diving boards;
  • Zero depth pool with cooling fountains;
  • Full-time 25 meter lap lane; and
  • Youth pool with spraying water and a whale slide.

The pool, which is heated, has plenty of shade and is surrounded by grassy areas for laying out or relaxing.
