City of Overland Park snow crews are on duty beginning Tuesday evening to begin treating streets and plowing incoming snow.

Travel, including morning commutes, could be hazardous on Wednesday across Overland Park and all of northeast Kansas.

Recycle, shred and donate at the Recycling Extravaganza

Reduce, reuse and rid your home of unwanted items at the Recycling Extravaganza this weekend.

Join us Saturday, April 22, on the Black & Veatch campus at 11401 Lamar Ave. between 8 a.m. and 2 p.m. 

Recycle and donate items not collected by routine curbside recycling that may otherwise end up in a landfill. 

The following items will be accepted at the Recycling Extravaganza for recycling:

All donated items must be in good condition. The following items will be accepted at the Recycling Extravaganza as donations:

  • Clothing
  • Building materials
  • Toys
  • Furniture
  • Eyeglasses
  • Musical instruments (No pianos, organs or drums.)
  • Shoes
  • Fabric
  • Bikes

There is no residency requirement to attend this event. Donations are collected free of charge. View costs associated with recycling large items and electronics at opkansas.org.
