City Property Maintenance
The City of Overland Park is dedicated to providing quality street, traffic and stormwater maintenance services.
Public property in Overland Park includes:
- Curbs and sidewalks
- Parks and trails
- Public buildings
- Rights-of-way (medians and the area about 11 feet back from the curb)
- Stormwater management areas
- Streets
- Street trees
- Traffic signals, streetlights and street signs
Maintenance includes keeping these elements clean, working and usable.
To report a problem, submit a request through OPCares, the City’s customer service system.
Streetlight Repairs
The city owns and maintains more than 19,300 street lights to help keep our roads safe and bright.
Crews regularly check street lights, but we also ask residents to report when lights are out in their area. Request street light repairs on OPCares.
Graffiti Removal
City staff will remove graffiti on public city property.
Graffiti containing gang symbols or insensitive content is given the highest priority and is removed or covered within 72 hours of reporting.
Submit requests for graffiti removal using the city’s online customer service tool, OPCares.
On Private Property
Graffiti removal on private property is the owner’s or tenant’s responsibility. To report vandalism or graffiti to police, call 913-895-6300 or file an OPCares request.
