Overland Park’s Public Works Department provides safe and timely street, traffic and stormwater services.
The American Public Works Association recognizes the City’s Public Works Department as a nationally-accredited organization that follows industry best practices. Whether filling a pothole, repairing a streetlight, monitoring traffic flow, inspecting a construction project or driving a snow plow, we take our mission of providing beneficial, efficient and timely services seriously.
Public Works operates four divisions in several locations across the city.
Public Works administration directs and coordinates work areas, leads department objectives and trains staff.
The Engineering Division plans, designs, and manages construction and maintenance for streets, bridges and storm sewer systems.
