The LongHouse Visitor Center at the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens offers beautiful indoor and outdoor event spaces. Whether you envision an intimate ceremony surrounded by nature’s beauty or a grand celebration filled with elegance, we have the perfect setting to bring your dream wedding or celebration to life.
Choose between our flexible hourly rental option or indulge in the convenience of our wedding packages. Reservations may be made up to two years in advance. View wedding package specifications, rates and fees as well as inclement weather and cancellation policies below.

Wedding Package Details
LongHouse wedding packages include:
- Use of The Gathering Place, Waterside Terrace, Hilltop Terrace or the selection of the ceremony site on the grounds of your choosing,
- Prep kitchen and two wedding suites for the duration of your event,
- Set up and breakdown of pre-approved layout(s),
- Tables and chairs for up to 194 guests,
- Guest admission to the Arboretum up to the stated capacity,
- Exclusive access to gardens for evening weddings,
- Dedicated on-site event attendant(s),
- Audio/visual equipment,
- And a one-hour rehearsal prior to the event (must be scheduled in advance).
A 50 percent deposit fee is due at the time of booking.
The remaining balance is due two weeks before your scheduled event.
The layout of the event is due two weeks prior to the date of the event.
Hourly Rentals
All facility and garden rentals include admission for up to the stated capacity. Capacity counts all people attending the event. Anyone exceeding the space’s capacity must purchase additional admission.
Regular hours are the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and LongHouse Visitor Center’s normal operating hours, Monday through Sunday. After hours are any times outside of these normal operating hours. Hours are subject to change.
After-hours rentals are available based on staff availability and require a $40 per hour staffing fee.

Garden Locations
The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens has additional locations available to rent or combine with LongHouse settings.
Hourly Rental Fees
Your dedicated on-site event attendant will support the event’s audio/visual needs, restroom restocking, light janitorial, patron entry and facility resources.
Set-up and breakdown of tables and chairs at event location(s) will apply at the following rate:
- $75 for <50 tables and chairs
- $125 for spaces that have 51-100 tables & chairs
- $250 for spaces that have 101+ tables & chairs
The layout of the event is due two weeks prior to the date of the event.
Cancellations + Refund Requests
Cancellations and/or requests for refunds by rental groups citing inclement weather, despite the Arboretum & LongHouse facilities ability to operate, must follow the refund structure below. In the event of a rental cancellation, it is the responsibility of the renter to communicate changes to their guests/attendees.
Requests for refunds due to rentee cancellations must be submitted in writing and are subject to the following cancellation fees:
- 15 months+, 10% of total rental
- 6-14 months, 30% of total rental
- 3-5 months, 50% of total rental
- Less than three months, no refund
Inclement Weather Policy
The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens and LongHouse Visitor Center reserve the right to cancel a facility or grounds rental in the event of inclement weather. Staff will notify the rental group and discuss available refund, rescheduling or relocation options. Please note that indoor spaces are not automatically held as backup locations for outdoor rentals. By reserving an outdoor site, the renter acknowledges that weather conditions may impact their event and assumes responsibility for planning accordingly.
