Overland Park offers both indoor and outdoor pools designed for fun, fitness and relaxation. Outdoor pools are open during the summer, and the indoor pools at Matt Ross Community Center are open year-round.

Opening Day: May 24, 2026
Daily Operating Hours: Noon-7:30 p.m.
Fourth of July: Noon-5 p.m.
Closing Day for Stonegate and Young’s Pools: Aug. 7, 2026
Closing Day for Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center: Sept. 7, 2026

The indoor pools at Matt Ross Community Center are open year-round.

Outdoor Pool Rules

Hourly Swim Break

  • Takes place at the top of every hour for 10 minutes.
  • Adults ages 18+ may remain in the water.
  • Allows lifeguards to complete a full bottom sweep of the pool.
  • Ideal time for young guests to use the restroom, drink water, reapply sunscreen and rest.

Weather Safety

  • Pools temporarily close if lightning is detected within 12 miles.
  • All guests must clear the pool deck.
  • Refunds are not issued for weather-related closures.

Overland Park’s outdoor pools make a great summer job. There are cashier, lifeguard, pool management and swim and dive coach positions available.

We’ll work around your commitments, and pools close when school is back in session. Plus, we’ll train you.
