The Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens is a wonderful location for students to learn.
Regular admission fees apply for everyone attending. Children ages 5 and under are free.
Admission for guests ages 6-17 is $3 and admission for individuals ages 18 and older is $7.
Please call 913-890-1773 or complete the linked form to let us know your group size and intended visit date.
If you select a date already reserved by several other school groups, we will suggest you choose a different date to ensure there are enough picnic tables, trash cans and restrooms.
School groups must have at least one chaperone for every ten children.
Students may walk around freely, but please remind them not to remove anything from the environment and to leave spaces how they were found.
Bus or van drivers should drop students off at the east entrance sidewalk and park in the grass bus parking lot on the west side.
Title 1 schools that serve children in Overland Park may qualify for free admission.
Complete the linked form at least two weeks before the date you are requesting. Then, watch for an email from the Arboretum verifying approval of your admission fee scholarship.
Please note that scholarship application information is included at the end of the field trip request form.
If you have any questions about the scholarship program, call 913-890-1754 or email [email protected].
To create a more enhanced experience, self-guided materials for students and teachers are available as adventure packs.
The Friends of the Arboretum & Botanical Gardens provides adventure packs full of learning resources for free.
Students will practice measurement, data collection and identification skills to improve their number sense, quantitative reasoning, problem-solving and pattern recognition skills.
Teachers can pick up and return field trip packs to the greeter in the environmental education center. They are free to check out with a reservation.
For questions regarding Adventure Packs, please email [email protected].
