Planning the Plan: The Economics of Land Use

Residents who want to help plan future of Overland Park can watch a new session in a speaker series, focused on how land use affect funding for city services and infrastructure.

The Planning and Development Services Department arranged several speakers to spark thinking about high-interest community topics. Each video features an expert on planning topics, and encourages viewers to provide feedback on the video’s topic through an online engagement tool.

September’s session, “The Economics of Land Use”, is presented by AJ Fawver, the community consulting planning leader for Verdunity, a planning firm based in Lubbock, Texas.

Residents who participate will be better equipped to participate in the City’s 2022 Comprehensive Plan update, which the City will use to evaluate land use, capital planning and budgeting decisions.
