The holidays are shining bright in Overland Park! Festive light displays throughout the City offer a simple way for families and friends to enjoy the season together. Celebrate the magic of this time of year by exploring the many installations throughout our community.
During the holiday season, Thompson Park in Downtown Overland Park is filled with lights, decorations and seasonal charm. The 50-foot holiday tree by the performance stage makes an ideal backdrop for family photos or evening strolls. The park is open from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. every day.
Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead
Holiday Lights on Farmstead Lane returns to Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead, offering a festive, family-friendly experience from the comfort of your car. The lights will be on nightly from 5-10 p.m., Nov. 27-Dec. 31. Visitors can enjoy the display and watch the lights dance along with holiday music at the Farmstead’s main entrance.
The annual Luminary Walk at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens transforms the gardens into a glowing winter landscape. Stroll softly lit pathways, explore whimsical fairy villages, enjoy live music and sip complimentary cider in the Children’s Discovery Garden.

Prefer a quieter holiday experience? Electric Glow at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens offers illuminated displays without the candlelit woods, Santa, musicians, cider, trains or crowds. With limited capacity, this event is perfect for a peaceful evening stroll through the gardens.
