City of Overland Park snow crews are on duty beginning Tuesday evening to begin treating streets and plowing incoming snow.

Travel, including morning commutes, could be hazardous on Wednesday across Overland Park and all of northeast Kansas.

Join the Fourth of July festivities at the Farmstead

Join us for a fun-filled morning of festivities as we honor Independence Day from 9 a.m.-noon at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead! Get ready for an unforgettable Celebrating the Fourth at the Farm event packed with entertainment, contests and good old-fashioned American spirit. 

In addition to patriotic lessons held in the schoolhouse, chalk drawings along the apple orchard path, old-fashioned games and a cakewalk happening all day, here’s a sneak peek at what’s in store for you and your family:

Bike Parade: Decorate your bike in red, white, and blue and join our festive bike parade. It’s a wonderful way for children and adults alike to display their patriotic pride.

This event is free with Farmstead admission. Enjoy all the Independence Day festivities along with everything else the Farmstead has to offer, including more than 250 animals and birds that call the Farmstead home. The Farmstead closes at 2 p.m. on July 4.

After a day at the Farmstead, head over to Corporate Woods Founders’ Park for the Overland Park Star Spangled Spectacular beginning at 5 p.m.
