The City of Overland Park presents an Independence Day celebration!
Throughout the day, feast on food truck snacks, drop in on a yoga class, see live performances, relax on the park lawn, and get ready for the main fireworks show.
This is a free event hosted by the City of Overland Park and sponsored by Corporate Woods, Renewal by Andersen, and McCownGordon Construction. This year’s presenting sponsor is Advent Health Shawnee Mission.

This year’s Star Spangled Spectacular headliner is Noe Palma.
Growing up the Kansas City Metro Area, Palma started singing when he first heard Elvis Presley sing “All Shook Up.”
Since then, Palma has toured the midwest with his band and worked with song writers such as Patrick Jason Matthews, Dallas Davidson, Ashley Gorley, and Bobby Pinson.

State Line Drive was formed when twin brothers Mason and Micah Marrs from Missouri joined forces with brothers Joel and Jordan Mills from Kansas.
These teenagers have been playing for crowds across the Midwest ever since.

Pop-up yoga class: Bring your own mat or towel and join us on the lawn for a yoga session with a certified instructor from Matt Ross Community Center at 10 a.m.
First Watch veterans appreciation dinner: First Watch will serve a free dinner to the first 400 veterans and members of their immediate families, starting at 5 p.m. in the veterans tent in front of Building 40. Thank you for your service!
Kids’ area: Bring the kids over to the Eilert Fountain from 5-9 p.m. to play on the giant slide and participate in other children’s activities.
Food trucks: Taste a little of everything at the Star Spangled Spectacular. The following vendors will be selling food:
Parking is available in Corporate Woods.
The map to the right shows available, designated parking lots. Please remember where you parked and be patient leaving parking lots after the event.
The Star Spangled Spectacular is an outdoor event in a city park.
Bring a lawn chair and blankets for seating. No pop-up tents or canopies are allowed.
Beverages and food in coolers is allowed. Glass containers are not allowed. We encourage you bring plenty of water and stay hydrated. Food trucks and vendors will be on hand to sell cold beverages, beer, and a variety of food and snacks.
Leashed, well-behaved dogs are allowed.
