Get ready to recycle this fall

Fall is a great time to clean out your garage or basement! Instead of tossing your used items in the trash, consider recycling them at one of the City’s upcoming events:

Large Appliance and Document Shredding Event
Saturday, Sept. 13 from 9 a.m. to noon
Blue Valley North High School, 12200 Lamar Ave.

Drop off large appliances (refrigerators, ovens, dehumidifiers, dryers, etc.) for no cost. Documents for shredding will also be accepted for a suggested donation of $5 per box. No residency requirement. This event is open to everyone!

Construction Debris Drop-Off
Saturday, Sept. 27 from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m.
Blue Valley Switzer District Activity Complex, 13310 Switzer Road

Disposing of old decking, fencing, lumber, railroad ties and other construction and demolition debris can be difficult. We can take some of those items off your hands. This event is free and open to Overland Park residents only. Appointments are available but not required.

Electronics Recycling and Document Shredding
Saturday, Sept. 27 from 9 a.m. to noon
Blue Valley Switzer District Activity Complex, 13310 Switzer Road

Safely dispose of your small electronics and documents. A suggested donation of $5 per file box of documents will be accepted, while electronics recycling fees range from $5 to $30.
