Enjoy the sparkle: Celebrating Independence Day in OP

Celebrate the red, white and blue, and join us for an unforgettable Fourth of July in Overland Park at these City events:

Star Spangled Spectacular

Get ready for another Star Spangled Spectacular on July 4 at Corporate Woods Founders’ Park, located at 9711 W. 109th St. 

Food trucks open and concerts kick off at 5 p.m. The fireworks show begins at approximately 10 p.m. Guests are encouraged to bring blankets, chairs, food, water, and coolers. Alcohol and pop-up tents are prohibited.

Celebrating the Fourth at the Farm

Head to Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead on July 4 between 9 a.m. and 12 p.m. to enjoy old-fashioned games and activities and participate in a bike parade while you celebrate Independence Day at the Farm. Fourth at the Farm is included with regular admission to the Farmstead. The Farmstead closes at 2 p.m. on July 4.

City Offices Closed

Overland Park City Hall, Sanders Justice Center, the Recycling Center and community centers will be closed on July 4. 

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead will be open from 9 a.m. to 2 p.m. City pools will be open from 12-5 p.m. 

Fireworks illegal in Overland Park

Make sure to leave the fireworks to the professionals. 

It is illegal to purchase, possess, or discharge any fireworks in Overland Park.

The following types of fireworks are prohibited:

  • Sparklers
  • Firecrackers
  • Torpedoes
  • Skyrockets
  • Roman candles

This is not an exhaustive list. Any device that produces a visible or audible effect through combustion or detonation is not allowed in Overland Park.
