82nd Street Realignment

The City of Overland Park will realign 82nd Street to meet with Marty Street and create a reconfigured intersection along Metcalf Avenue. In addition to the realignment, northbound and southbound left turn lanes will be added on Metcalf Avenue and sidewalks will be constructed.

This project is part of the City of Overland Park enacting its ultimate vision for the Metcalf Avenue corridor set forth in the Metcalf Avenue Preliminary Engineering Study.

Project Timeline

  • Jan. 25, 2024 – First public meeting
  • Summer 2024 – Second public meeting
  • Summer 2024-Summer 2025 – Right-of-way acquisition
  • Fall 2025 – Final design, third public meeting and construction begins
