Long-Range Planning

The City uses long-range planning studies to guide strategic, intentional growth and development.

Long-range planning efforts include preparing and maintaining the City’s comprehensive plan, annual development report, special area studies, and strategic planning initiatives.

Annual Development Report

The annual development report provides a snapshot of the city’s demographics and development activity.

Comprehensive Plan

The city maintains a Comprehensive Plan that directs, coordinates, and evaluates development and progress, considering neighborhoods, parks, public art and transportation, education, the economy, and much more.

Forward OP

Forward OP is a community vision developed with public input from hundreds of people. The vision document provides a framework for our city to lead as a forward-thinking, innovative and welcoming community.

Special Area Studies

Special area studies address development needs or issues in specific areas of the city and include neighborhood or corridor studies, design concept plans, and studies that result in future land-use plans and goals for newly annexed areas.

UDO Update

The City’s Unified Development Ordinance is the legal tool regulating land use within City limits. The City began a two-year process of updating the UDO in 2024.
