City of Overland Park snow crews are on duty beginning Tuesday evening to begin treating streets and plowing incoming snow.

Travel, including morning commutes, could be hazardous on Wednesday across Overland Park and all of northeast Kansas.

Korean War Veterans Memorial

The Korean War Veterans memorial commemorates the service and sacrifice of those who served in the armed forces from 1950 to 1955 during the Korean War.

The memorial was created with the Korean War Veterans Association Chapter #181. Overland Park is honored to be the caretaker of the memorial.

Memorial Features

At the memorial, experience:

30 granite panels engraved with Korean War information and events
Plaques for each of the five military service branches
A Purple Heart panel and dedication panel

Eight of the 30 panels carry the names of 415 Kansas soldiers who were lost in the war.

The memorial honors all who were lost in the Korean War and specifically recognizes the sacrifices of Kansas veterans.

The memorial features "Remembering" by Charles Goslin.
