Kingston Lake Park is closed due to possible diesel fuel that leaked into the lake.

• Do not enter the water.
• Do not fish from the lake.
• Keep pets away and do not let them drink lake water.

City staff are working with the Johnson County Department of Health, the Kansas Department of Health and Environment and the EPA to monitor water quality.

While there is no immediate safety concern and no fire hazard, out of an abundance of caution, the park will be closed through Friday, December 5. 

Kingston Lake Park is a 21.5-acre community park with a large lake and plenty of space to enjoy the outdoors, with easy access from U.S. 69.
