Overland Park partners with American Red Cross to host blood drive

Make a life-saving donation at the City of Overland Park’s Community Blood Drive at the Myron E. Scafe Building, 8500 Antioch Rd., on Wednesday, September 27 from 10 a.m.-3 p.m., hosted in partnership with the American Red Cross.

The Red Cross encourages donors of all blood types to attend, especially those with types O Negative, A Negative and B Negative. A blood donation takes approximately one hour, during which a donor gives approximately one pint of blood. Those wishing to donate may make an appointment online. Walk-ins will also be accepted.

Blood is a perishable product only available through volunteer donations. According to the Red Cross, every two seconds, someone in the United States is in need of blood. Find more information and sign up for an appointment at redcrossblood.org.
