Get ready to celebrate! The annual Mayor’s Holiday Festival returns to Thompson Park on Friday, Nov. 21, from 5 to 8 p.m. This free community event is the perfect way to kick off the holidays with festive fun and cheer.
Fun for the whole family
The festival is packed with activities for all ages. Enjoy a train ride around the park, pony rides, free arts and crafts, holiday movies and a photo booth, all designed to help you create lasting memories.
Shop for unique gifts and treats in the Maker’s Market, or purchase something tasty from food and beverage vendors throughout the event. Nearby restaurants in the district will also be open for dining and drinks.
Capture the magic
Bring your camera because Thompson Park will be full of tree-mendous photo opportunities. Snap a picture and chat with some of your favorite holiday characters, including Santa Claus, the Grinch and even a few Disney Princesses.
A meaningful moment and magical lights
Head over to the Thompson Park stage at 5:30 p.m. to celebrate contributions from local businesses and community members to the Friends of Johnson County Developmental Supports. This organization helps adults with disabilities with rent, clothing, food, medical expenses and other essential resources to support independence and community involvement.
At 6 p.m., Mayor Curt Skoog flips the switch in a magical tree-lighting ceremony that illuminates the park for the holiday season!
The Mayor’s Holiday Festival is the ideal way to embrace the season and get in the holiday spirit with your friends, family and neighbors.
