Learning meets fun at Safety Day at the Farmstead

Get ready for a morning full of learning and fun at Safety Day at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead!

Join us on Saturday, Aug. 23, from 9 a.m. to 1 p.m. for this free event, presented by Children’s Mercy. You’ll get to know the heroes who help keep Overland Park safe.

Bring the family to meet rescuers, hop aboard a fire truck, check out a police cruiser and explore important safety topics together. Kids can learn about everything from poison control to water safety, while families can take advantage of a Drive-Thru Child Car Seat Check.

More than a dozen organizations and City departments will be there, including the Overland Park Fire and Police departments. Please note that while emergency vehicles are scheduled to attend, some may be called away for public service.

After chatting with emergency crews, spend the day enjoying everything the Farmstead has to offer, including more than 250 animals and birds, a one-room schoolhouse, pedal tractors, playgrounds and more!
