Farmstead to reopen in May

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead will welcome guests back on Tuesday, May 4.

The Farmstead will be open from 10 a.m.-4 p.m., Tuesdays through Sundays, beginning May 4. It will be closed on Mondays for additional cleaning.

Timed Ticketing Reservations

During the 2021 season, guests will make timed reservations online prior to arriving at the Farmstead.

This will allow Farmstead staff to ensure a limited number of guests enter the facility,

Modifications for safety

Many favorite attractions at the Farmstead will be open and available, with some operational changes to support public health best practices.

Animal pens, chicken and turkey coops, gardens, orchards, ponds, playgrounds, trails, hayrides, concession stands and more will be open and available to guests.

The Dairy barn, schoolhouse, Ben’s Bank, barber shop and blacksmith shop will be open, with modifications including one-way traffic to promote social distancing. Guests will be able to pet and bottle-feed some animals through the fences, but pens will not be open for guests to enter.

Some amenities that necessitate high-contact touch points or do not allow for social distancing will not be available or open. These include the Dairy Barn movie theater, photo parlor, pony rides, pedal tractors and complementary red wagons.

Sanitation efforts to keep guests safe

City staff have been working extensively to ensure the Farmstead can operate safely.

In addition to providing a timed ticketing system to ensure a reduced visitor capacity, staff have increased sanitation and safety protocols.

Restrooms and playgrounds will be cleaned and sanitized multiple times daily.

Reduced hours also allow staff extra time for regular sanitation of all areas of the Farmstead.

Masks and distancing required

Farmstead guests are required to wear protective face masks in areas where social distancing may not be feasible. This includes all indoor areas (including restrooms), activities and in lines.

Masks are required for guests 5 and older and strongly recommended for ages 2-4 with close adult supervision. Guests with disabilities or medical conditions that do not allow for face masks to be worn are exempt from this requirement.

We ask all guests to practice safe social distancing and keep six feet between your party and others.

Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead did not open for the season in 2020 due to the coronavirus pandemic.
