Bluejacket Pool opens for summer swim season June 2

Bluejacket Pool opens Friday, June 2 at noon, welcoming swimmers for the summer pool season.

Overland Park’s three other outdoor pools opened Sunday, May 28, while the Bluejacket Pool opening was delayed due to the discovery of a water leak.

After diligent efforts by Parks and Recreation Department staff, additional testing and necessary repairs and adjustments, Bluejacket Pool is now able to open safely. Swim lessons will be held at Bluejacket Pool as originally planned.

“We are excited to welcome the community back to Bluejacket Pool,” said Parks and Recreation Department Director Jermel Stevenson. “We are confident in delivering a safe and enjoyable experience for all swimmers. Our aquatics team is eager to serve our pool visitors and create memorable moments this summer.”

Bluejacket Pool, 10101 Bond St., Stonegate Pool, 9701 Antioch Rd., Tomahawk Ridge Aquatic Center, 11950 Lowell Ave., and Young’s Pool, 8421 W. 77th St., are open from noon to 7 p.m. daily this summer.
