69Express: Upcoming overnight closures to expect along U.S. 69

Prepare for several upcoming overnight closures along U.S. 69 as crews continue work on the 69Express project. These closures are necessary to safely complete key construction activities and may impact travel during nighttime hours.

July 11

  • The northbound U.S. 69 to eastbound I-435 ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. July 11 to 10 a.m. July 12 for a traffic switch.

July 13

  • The College Boulevard to northbound U.S. 69 ramp will close nightly for bridge work from 5 p.m. on July 13 to 6 a.m. on July 14 and from 7 p.m. to 6 a.m. on July 14 and 15.
  • Eastbound I-435 from Quivira Road to U.S. 69 will be closed from 5 p.m. on July 13 to 6 a.m. on July 14 for girder setting. 

July 14

  • Westbound I-435 from Antioch Road to U.S. 69 will be closed from 7 p.m. on July 14 to 6 a.m. on July 15 for girder setting.
  • The westbound I-435 to southbound U.S. 69 ramp will be closed from 7 p.m. on July 14 to 6 a.m. on July 15 for girder setting.
  • The southbound U.S. 69 to 95th Street ramp will be closed from 9 a.m. on July 14 to 3 p.m. on July 17 for overhead sign construction.

The Kansas Department of Transportation’s project will build a new express toll lane in each direction adjacent to the existing general-purpose lanes to increase safety and improve congestion in the area.
