As the holiday season wraps up, it’s time to say goodbye to your holiday tree — and give it a second life!
The City offers convenient holiday tree recycling drop-off locations through Jan. 12, 2026. Recycled trees become mulch used in City parks and at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, helping keep our green spaces healthy, fragrant and beautiful.
Before dropping off your tree, remove all decorations, including lights, tinsel and ornaments. Artificial trees are not accepted.
Drop off your tree at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens, 8909 W. 179th St., from 9 a.m. to 4:30 p.m., or from 5 a.m. to 10 p.m. at these locations:
- Young’s Park, 7701 Antioch
- Indian Creek Recreation Center, 10308 Marty
- Quivira Park, 11901 Quivira
Recycling your holiday tree supports a greener, more sustainable Overland Park and helps keep our parks looking their best year-round.
