Description
Saddle up for a rootin’-tootin’ good time at Deanna Rose Children’s Farmstead as we celebrate National Day of the Cowboy! Enjoy classic cowboy fun with stick horse races and a boot toss, experience horseshoeing, branding and saddle demonstrations and meet some of our most beloved animals like Twister the mini Hereford or one of our friendly ponies. Keep your eyes peeled for the new sheriff in town, who is ready to round up some fun. Saddle up in your best cowpoke wear. Hats, boots, bandanas and fringe are encouraged. This special day honors the legacy of Kansas cowboys and cowgirls and celebrates the state’s rich ranching heritage. After all, the Kansas City area was once one of the biggest cowtowns in the country. Don’t miss the activities as we tip our hats to the spirit of the American West and honor the men and women who helped shape our history. This event is included with regular Farmstead admission.Schedule
