The city has adopted codes and ordinances concerning the parking and storage of personal vehicles, particularly abandoned or inoperable vehicles.
Residents have up to 15 days to make repairs to one vehicle at their home. Repairs must be completed between 7 a.m. and 10 p.m., unless it's an emergency repair such as a flat tire or dead battery.
During repairs, vehicles must be properly parked on a driveway or other approved parking surface, such as a garage or carport.
- Commercial vehicles cannot be stored in a residential area, but may be parked in a residential area on one occasion within a 30-day period for no more than 24 hours.
If additional off-street parking is needed, you may be able to expand an existing garage or carport or add a new one; both require a building permit.
