Street sweepers clean 1,811 lane miles of streets and about 1,700 cul-de-sacs between March and December.
The frequency of street sweeping is based on traffic levels. Main thoroughfares are swept every six to eight weeks; Downtown Overland Park, monthly, when weather permits, and all residential streets, two times a year.
Additional sweeping is done in preparation for street improvement projects.
