Real Christmas trees are more environmentally-friendly than their plastic and steel brethren. Recycling your tree following the holidays is a great way to return it to nature.
Each year, Overland Park allows residents to drop off their Christmas trees during daylight hours at four locations. The trees are mulched and used in city parks.
You can drop off your tree through Sunday, Jan. 10, at the following locations:
- Young's Park, 7701 Antioch
- Indian Creek Recreation Center, 10308 Marty
- Quivira Park, 11901 Quivira, and
- the Overland Park Arboretum and Botanical Gardens, 8909 W. 179th Street.
Please remove all lights, tinsel, ornaments, presents (yes, sometimes gifts are found), and tree stand.
