Renovations to begin at City Hall

Renovations will begin soon on the second floor lobby of City Hall where Public Works and Planning and Development Services staff serve residents and business owners.

The project will replace front counters, add a new conference room, and update the look of the upstairs lobby. It will also increase security and enhance customer service. After the renovations, three customer service counters will consolidate into two areas, one for Public Works, and one for Planning & Development Services.

On Friday, Oct. 25, the building safety and inspections counter will be closed during normal business hours while staff relocates. Staff will generally be available via phone, at 913-895-6220, to schedule inspections.

Construction will begin on Monday, Oct. 28.

Once construction begins, all Public Works and Planning & Development Services staff will be available via a counter at the top of the stairs, to the right.

Later phases of construction will renovate other staff areas, Conference Room D, and the elevator.

Construction is expected to be complete in the spring of 2020.
