Drop-off site available for winter storm debris

Overland Park residents can drop off storm debris beginning tomorrow, January 15, at two drop-off sites in the city.

The Young’s Pool parking lot, 8421 W. 77th Street, and the St. Andrews Golf Club parking lot, 11099 W. 135th Street, will serve as drop-off sites.

Drop-off sites will be open 8 a.m. – 5:30 p.m. daily, including weekends and Martin Luther King, Jr. Day, through January 27.

Drop-off sites will be open 8 a.m. – 4 p.m. on February 2 and 3, and February 9 and 10.

Drop-off sites will not be open after February 10.

Hours and dates will be contingent on weather. Closures will be posted on the city’s website and social media platforms.

You must have proof of residency to drop off debris at the site. Staff and volunteers will be checking for either an Overland Park ID, or an ID and matching utility bill with an Overland Park address. Non-residents driving vehicles will be permitted to use the drop-off sites when an Overland Park resident appears with them and with proof of residency.

There is no limitation on the amount or form of storm debris that will be accepted. Branches, limbs, or stumps can be bundled, bagged or loose.

Please plan to unload your vehicle yourself. Volunteers will be on site to check residents in, but will not be available to help unload vehicles.

Debris from commercial vehicles will not be accepted.
