Council Vacancy Screening Committee to interview eight candidates

Overland Park’s City Council Vacancy Screening Committee will interview eight residents who applied for the open Ward 4 City Council position.

The committee met on Monday night and discussed the applications of 12 residents, prioritizing those with local public service experience.

The eight candidates to be interviewed are:

  • Steven Baru
  • Ashley D. Bieck
  • William (Bill) Flohrs
  • Stacie K. Gram
  • Patty Markley
  • Tom S. Murphy
  • Anna Randazzo
  • Gregg Riess

Candidates will be interviewed on the afternoons of May 11 and May 12. Interviews will be open to the public using Zoom. 

Instructions for viewing or listening to the meetings will be available on the agenda for the Council Vacancy Screening Committee meetings that will be posted  on the City’s meeting portal.

Per city charter ordinance, the Mayor, council president and the chair of the Finance, Administration and Economic Development Committee make up the City Council vacancy screening committee, which must recommend a maximum of two potential replacements within 30 days.
