Overview Spring 2018

"Overview" is the city's quarterly newsletter for residents. It includes news, things to see and do in Overland Park, valuable information for neighborhoods, recreational and environmental news.

The Overview Spring 2018 edition is in mailboxes now and includes information on:

  • Overland Park's 911 dispatch center, and what you should do in an emergency;
  • 2018's Arbor Day Poster Contest;
  • Free tree and shrub seedling giveaways;
  • SevenDays, a celebration of understanding, kindness, and love in honor of three victims of an April 2014 white supremacist shooting;
  • Environmental events such as the Recycling Extravaganza and Stream Clean.

The Winter Overview edition also includes a list of programs and classes going on within the Parks and Recreation Departments, including:

  • Whirlwind: Art in Motion, the opening of a kinetic sculpture exhibit at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens;
  • Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead's 40 Anniversary Celebration;
  • Saturday Morning Swims, an opportunity for families with disabilities to enjoy the outdoor pools before the bustle of the day;
  • Spring Plant Sale at the Overland Park Arboretum & Botanical Gardens.
