Overview – Spring 2017

Screen Shot 2017 02 15 at 5.28.31 PM"Overview" is the city's quarterly newsletter for residents. It includes news, things to see and do in Overland Park, valuable information for neighborhoods, recreational and environmental news.

The Overview Spring 2017 edition will be in mailboxes beginning the week of Feb. 20 and includes information on:

  • Additions to public safety and street reconstruction efforts in 2017's budget;
  • The City's rental licensing and inspection program, meant to strengthen residential neighborhoods;
  • Road widening projects to occur this year;
  • New turf coming to the SCHEELS Overland Park Soccer Complex;
  • A poster contest that could have your child planting a tree with Mayor Gerlach;
  • The addition of bike lanes throughout Downtown Overland Park;
  • Upgrades to Matt Ross Community Center equipment and infrastructure;
  • A whole new look for Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead;
  • A free basketball tournament for teens, hosted by the Overland Park Police Department;
  • Talks on home security, gardening and environmental issues, and emergency preparation.

The Spring Overview edition also includes a list of City events for the season and classes, programs and events going on within the Parks and Recreation Departments.

It will begin arriving in homes late next week.
