Overland Park Police Honor Guard will lead a solemn event in honor of the 9/11 anniversary.

7:30 a.m.

Honor Guard members will lower the American flag to half staff. A wreath will be placed at the victim's panel containing the almost 3000 names of those who perished in the 9/11 attacks on our nation.

7:46 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell and flowers will be placed to mark the time American Airlines Flight 11 Hit the North Tower.

8:03 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell and flowers will be placed to mark the time United Airlines Flight 175 Hit the South Tower.

8:37 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell and flowers will be placed to mark the time American Airlines Flight 77 Hit the Pentagon.

8:59 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell to mark the time the World Trade Center South Tower Collapsed.

9:03 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell and place flowers to mark the time United Airlines Flight 93 Crashed in Shanksville, PA.

9:29 a.m.

Honor Guard member will strike a bell to mark the time the World Trade Center North Tower Collapsed.

Between each ceremonial bell strike, the public is welcome to occupy the memorial, learn, and remember this tragic day in America's history.
