Tours + Visits

Overland Park firefighters welcome the opportunity to share the profession with others. In many cases, we can come to your event or provide a tour at one of our facilities.

To request a fire station tour, fire truck visit, or fire safety presentation, file a request through OPCares, or call 913-895-8400.

Fire Station Tours

Groups tours are available at all five fire stations, by appointment, at the following times:

  • First and fourth Wednesday of the month, 10 a.m. and 4 p.m.
  • First and third Saturday of the month, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.
  • Second and fourth Sunday of the month, 10 a.m. and 2 p.m.

Staff members will plan age-appropriate fire safety education activities.

Children will also learn about life at a fire station and see the fire truck and its equipment. Groups are limited to 30 visitors and children must be four years of age or older.

Small groups of guests (1-3 people) are welcome at all five fire stations at any time.

Fire Truck Visits

Fire trucks are available to visit some special events.

During fire truck visits, staff members teach children and adults the importance of wearing a seat belt, having a fire escape plan, knowing when to dial 9-1-1 and many other safety tips.

Block parties must have a block party permit for fire trucks to visit.

Trucks are not available for birthday parties, private business events, or preschool visits. Schools interested in this experience should schedule a fire station visit.
