Property Tax Rebate Program

The City of Overland Park offers a property tax rebate pilot program to eligible Overland Park residents. The program’s goal is to help those in need of assistance continue to afford to live in their homes.

The program offers a rebate of up to 75% of city property taxes. Overland Park’s share of the average home’s property taxes is equal to $832. Under the rebate program, eligible residents could get up to $624 back.

Eligibility:

To be eligible to apply, you must:

  • Be an Overland Park resident.
  • Live in and own your home.
  • Be current on your property taxes.
  • Meet very low-income limits from the Department of Housing and Urban Development.

Property taxes must be paid in full prior to the City providing a rebate. Most residents will pay their 2024 property taxes in two installments. The first installment in December 2024 and the second installment in May 2025. Both payments must be paid before the City will provide the rebate.
