Stormwater Pollution Ordinance

The Stormwater Pollution Ordinance prohibits the discharge of pollutants to the storm drain system (streets, gutters, underground pipes) in order to protect and improve water quality.

Common pollutants include grease from restaurants, lawn and garden clippings, soaps and detergents from outdoor power-washing, chlorinated swimming pool water, used oil and paint, concrete wash-out, soil/gravel and trash.

This ordinance, adopted in 2006, helps the city meet its permitting requirements under the Clean Water Act.
