Council Member Logan Heley was elected to the City Council in November 2017.

He represents Ward 1. Ward 1 encompasses all of Overland Park north of 87th Street.

Council Member Heley has lived in Ward 1 since 1994 and three generations of his family currently live in Overland Park. Heley cares about our neighborhoods and he is active in our community. Sustainability being important to the future of our city's quality of life, Heley is involved with the Overland Park Environmental Advisory Council. Heley also serves on the Shawnee Mission UU Church Board of Trustees and the Alumni Network Advisory Board for the Youth Volunteer Corps. He is a Johnson County Citizens Academy graduate.

Professionally, Heley works as the Food and Fund Drive Engagement Manager for Harvesters—The Community Food Network in the community engagement department. At Harvesters he works with churches, schools, businesses, and more to facilitate food and fund donations that will help feed the 360,000+ people in our region who don’t know when or where their next meal will be. Previously, Heley was the press intern at the White House and worked in constituent services as a Congressional intern. To help pay for his education, he worked as a package handler for UPS and was a member of the Teamsters union.

A graduate of Shawnee Mission schools, Heley graduated Cum Laude from the University of Southern California with dual degrees in Broadcast Journalism and History.
