Christopher Newlin was elected to the City Council in November 2017.
The Newlin family have been residents of Overland Park since 2013. Chris and his wife, Adrienne, have two boys, Jack and Max, who school in the Blue Valley School District.
Newlin graduated from Baker University in 1999 where he played baseball and became a member of the Kansas Alpha Chapter of Sigma Phi Epsilon. Chris works for Spectrum Enterprise as a Strategic Account Executive in Overland Park partnering with businesses to find value and solutions for their data and voice needs.
As a Johnson County resident since 2006, he has been actively helping his community. For eight years he volunteered for his fraternity’s alumni board holding multiple positions in communications, finance, and leading as President. Currently, he serves as President of the Coffee Creek Crossing Homeowners Association. He is also the assistant coach of his son Max’s soccer team and the head coach of Max’s baseball team.
Chris is passionate about helping the community around him. He wants to bring this passion to the city leadership and continue to help grow the city of Overland Park and keep it a great place for us to raise our families.
