The Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead will consider Eagle Scout proposals twice a year during the months of February and August.
The Farmstead has project suggestions available or the individual Scout may submit their own project. For a list of project suggestions, contact the Volunteer Coordinator. All proposals will be subject to approval by a committee of Farmstead supervisors, however, priority will be given to the projects suggested by the Farmstead.
How to apply
- Review the Eagle Scout Service Project How-To Manual provided by the National Eagle Scout Association.
- Submit a copy of the Eagle Scout Service Project Proposal (pages 7-10) along with your email address to FarmsteadVolunteer@opkansas.org or send to:
Deanna Rose Children's Farmstead

The Farmstead receives numerous requests for Eagle projects each year. While the Farmstead wishes they could accommodate all proposals, a limited number of projects can be accepted. Decisions will be made by March 15 and September 15, following the two application periods. All applicants will be notified by email as to whether or not their project is approved.
If the project is accepted, the Scout will be classified as a volunteer at the Farmstead and therefore, must complete and pass the City of Overland Park's background/records check.
Government students and Scout troops often attend City Council meetings in their quest to earn class credit and/or merit badges.
