More parking may be coming to downtown Overland Park.
The city is seeking proposals to help develop a plan for implementation of a structure parking program.
The focus of the request is to advance the redevelopment potential of downtown Overland Park by creating a plan for constructing parking structures to address existing needs and enable private sector redevelopment activities at greater densities than would be possible with surface parking.
The potential public investment in parking would serve as a catalyst to private investment that leads to a vibrant, mixed-use, pedestrian scaled district with a distinctive character that sets it apart from other commercial districts.
Proposals are due by 2 p.m. Friday, Feb. 1, in the City Clerk’s Office at City Hall, 8500 Santa Fe Drive.
