  • Trucks are only available for City-sponsored parades with designated viewing areas and parade routes.
  • Trucks are not available for birthday parties or private business events.
  • Trucks do not visit preschools. Instead, schedule a fire station visit.

School Visits

OPFD staff will talk with students in classrooms, school-wide events and career fairs. Lesson are geared toward specific age levels. At school visits, OPFD staff members will discuss fire safety, firefighting, emergency medicine, engineering, arson investigation, training and much more. Firefighters will bring videos, handouts and gear for participants to pick up and try on.

Safety Days and Fairs

The Fire Department receives many requests to attend safety days and fairs and considers each request individually. Private event requests are more likely to be accepted if they are safety-focused and well-advertised and the audience is growth-minded. Please submit a safety day application at least 60 days before your event to be considered.
