CERT Training

The city's emergency management office and the Fire Department provide training for neighborhood leaders, business owners and anyone who may need to provide lifesaving skills in the wake of a disaster due to the overwhelming demand on police, fire and Emergency Medical Services. Students will learn:

  • Disaster preparedness 
  • Disaster fire suppression
  • Light search and rescue
  • Disaster medical operations
  • Disaster psychology
  • Terrorism


Community Emergency Response TeamClassroom instruction is followed by practical exercises and evaluation.

This course consists of six, three-hour evening courses, from 6:30 to 9:30 on Monday nights at the Fire Training Center:
