The city's emergency management office and the Fire Department provide training for neighborhood leaders, business owners and anyone who may need to provide lifesaving skills in the wake of a disaster due to the overwhelming demand on police, fire and Emergency Medical Services. Students will learn:
- Disaster preparedness
- Disaster fire suppression
- Light search and rescue
- Disaster medical operations
- Disaster psychology
Classroom instruction is followed by practical exercises and evaluation.
This course consists of six, three-hour evening courses, from 6:30 to 9:30 on Monday nights at the Fire Training Center.
