Councilmember Curt Skoog was elected to the City Council in 2005 and was reelected in April 2009.
Since his election in 2005, Curt has been one of the City of Overland Park's appointed members to the Mid-America Regional Council (MARC). MARC is a nonprofit association of city and county governments and the metropolitan transportation planning organization for the bi-state Kansas City region serving nine counties and 120 cities. Curt is currently Co-Chairing the Creating Sustainable Places Consortium Coordinating Committee.
Curt has been an active member of the community. He served as an elected representative on the Shawnee Mission School District South Area Advisory Board, Co-President of the Shawnee Mission South PTSA, and Co-Host of the Shawnee Mission School District Foundation Annual Breakfast. He is a graduate of the Kansas Chamber of Commerce Leadership Kansas Program and graduate of the Greater Kansas City Area Chamber of Commerce Centurions Leadership Program.
Professionally, Curt works in the corporate office of H&R Block. He and his wife have three children who attend or graduated from schools in the Shawnee Mission School District.
