This project includes designing and constructing a storm drainage system through the Saddle Hills neighborhood from 81st Street to 82nd Terrace, between Grant and Grandview Avenue.
The current storm drainage system is a combination of open ditch and enclosed pipes located between homes.
This project, which was approved by the City Council in October 2007, will replace the existing storm drainage system with all new pipes and eliminate the ditches.
It is recommended to help minimize flooding of homes, yards and streets in the neighborhood.
The project was designed by SK Design Group. Miles Excavating is the contractor. Construction started in October 2008 and is expected to be finished by April 2009.
The project is being funded through the Johnson County Stormwater Management Advisory Council program.
