I-435 and antioch interchange/us 69 south
The City of Overland Park is working with the Kansas Department of Transportation on the
$127 million project at Antioch and Interstate 435.
Improvements include:
- A new interchange at Antioch Road and I-435.
- Widening I-435 from six to eight lanes between Metcalf Avenue and U.S. 69, including auxiliary lanes between interchanges for entering and exiting.
- An elevated two-lane fly-over ramp from southbound US 69 to eastbound I-435, to replace the existing loop ramp in the southwest quadrant of the I-435/US 69 Interchange.
- Partial reconstruction of the 103rd Street interchange.

Clarkson Construction Company, the contractor, started construction in mid-September 2005.
Construction in 2008 will focus on completing the flyover ramp from southbound U.S. 69 to eastbound I-435. Crews also plan to finish widening I-435 from Antioch to US 69 and the interchange at Antioch Road and I-435.
