Making/Requesting a Police Report
Police reports may be made or requested by phone at 913/327-6881 or in person at the Myron E. Scafe Building, 8500 Antioch (map), or the W. Jack Sanders Justice Center, 12400 Foster (map).
You also may file some police reports over the telephone.
Fingerprinting is available at the W. Jack Sanders Justice Center only, from 9 a.m. to 4 p.m. Monday through Friday,

Copy Fees:
- Accident report - $2
- Photographs (8x10) - $9
- Arrest report - $3
- Audio tape - $4.50
- Other reports - $0.25/page
- VHS/DVD - $25
Many restrictions apply to police reports due to state and federal regulations.
Accident Reports
Need a copy of an automobile accident report for your insurance company? If so, they are available online. You also can contact the department's Records Unit at 913/327-6881.
Accident Photographs
If you would like to purchase automobile accident photographs, please call 913/895-6317. Photographs of car accidents can be obtained by the individuals involved, their insurance agent or attorney. There are requirements that must be met before photographs can be released:
- You must be involved
- No fatality photographs can be released without a court order or subpoena
- The cost for an 8x10 photograph is $9 plus tax
- Payment must be received prior to printing the photographs
There is a two to three week turnaround time to obtain photos.
